Nature, economies and our day-to-day life have one thing in common: they work in a series of cycles as constant as waves rising and falling in the ocean. Life may have felt the same for many of you over the past year, with many ups and downs, as it has been a tough year for workers and businesses across the globe. At 2X, we’re pleased that this year has seen the addition of many well-known customers and a significant expansion of our partner channels. We’ve significantly expanded our partner channel, establishing partnerships with Samsung, TechData/Azlan, Dell, Lifeboat Distribution and many others, bringing our total to over 1,500 partners worldwide. We’ve also strengthened our ties with you, our channel partners, and have opened three new offices in Central Europe, the United Kingdom and Australia, headed by dedicated SBC sales channel experts. Our work has not gone by unnoticed, with 2X receiving numerous awards, including being named a CRN Emerging Vendor for 2009. I’m excited about the upcoming year, as companies at all levels continue to use virtual computing services to increase margins through cost savings, and continue to turn to 2X as the premier reliable, cost-efficient option for virtual computing solutions. | | 2X VirtualDesktopServer v. 8.0 | 2X Software’s newest product version, Version 8 for the 2X ApplicationServer and 2X VirtualDesktopServer will be released shortly. The product will boast significant advantages to the Version 7 release, including the following: - Managing client settings: system administrators will now have the ability to monitor and control user settings from the management console, simplifying user settings overrides.
- Zero-Management Thin Clients: any device can now be converted to a thin client, without any additional management controls – the device can be booted in PXE mode, allowing new hardware to be detected automatically.
- Management of 2X SecureClientGateways: while in previous versions, administrators could only control a single 2X SecureClientGateway, and only if it was running on the same machine as the 2X PublishingAgent, VDS Version 8 will allow administrators to remotely install and manage multiple 2X SecureClientGateways.
- Windows CE Client: 2X VDS Version 8 will support devices running Windows CE, with virtually the same functionality as standard XP and Vista clients.
- TWAIN Redirection: 2X VDS Version 8 will also include TWAIN redirection, allowing any application using TWAIN technology to use hardware connected to the client device, making third-party scanning redirection solutions unnecessary (e.g., RemoteScan).
