In our efforts to move our Application Servers to a Co Lo Facility we were faced with the need for a Terminal Server Load Balancing and Published Application Server Solution for our new Terminal Server Farm. We came across 2x and decided to try the 5 User Demo. We were amazed at how easy it was to setup and maintain. The Load Balancing Configuration was a simple Client push and the Published Applications were very easy to publish and secure using AD Security. Universal Printing was a plus for us; it helped us eliminate additional software we had in place previously. It is easy to deploy and manage and has a good performance. Also end users like it. Schavemaker Transport – Beverwijk

"I found out about 2X when I was visiting another company and saw how it worked for that company. The main reason to consider using the 2X product was the need to expand the amount of licenses of a competitive product because of the growth of our organization. The easy implementation and the amount of labor saved during installation, in comparison to the product we formally used, made the decision final.During the testing stage we had to solve a dual monitor/resolution problem, but after installation of the appropriate Microsoft-fix on our Terminal Servers everything worked ok.The dual monitor issue is something we couldn’t fix in an acceptable manner in our Citrix environment. During testing our employees were very positive on the chosen 2X-solution, especially on the issue of stability. During testing we were often asked to speed up implementation, which we considered proof of fast growing acceptance of the new product in our organization. In all, taking into consideration the right value-for-money and the solved issues mentioned above, we are very happy that we have made the switch.

"2X has given us a more flexible solution that offered several benefits. We no longer need session directory and therefore do not need to invest in Enterprise servers. The load balancing in 2X is much more efficient than NLB. We found the cost reduction in Microsoft Licenses more than offset the cost of the 2X product. In addition, a user now has fewer mouse clicks to get to their application, as the application appears to launch locally from their own desktop. When they reconnect they see a performance improvement also, and we see improved performance on the servers. We also no longer have users confused as to which desktop they were seeing, as the termserver desktop is not visible. It also allows us to restrict applications to certain security groups, whereas before 2X, anything that was in the start menu was available to all."

"Our organization had a need for application delivery through Terminal Services and after some Googling learned about 2X Application Server. We downloaded the trial and were up and testing 2X Application Server on our servers within 15 minutes. It just worked as described and shortly after the testing began we committed to purchasing licenses. After we received the licenses we were able to upgrade the test installation in place without reinstalling or reconfiguring. 2X Application Server is a straightforward and easy to administer product that just works. In addition to the simplicity of installation and configuration the pricing is made clearly available on the 2X website. This is in contrast to Citrix which required pricing to be pulled from a reseller after waiting for a few days only to find out that the costs were much higher. I actually spent more time navigating around the Citrix website just trying to find out exactly which Citrix product provided the application presentation functionality that we needed than I did installing and configuring 2X for first use."

After demoing the free five user version I quickly realized that the 2X ApplicationServer really is a robust and smartly designed product. I was amazed with the simplicity of the configuration screens in comparison with other competitive products: 2X offered all (if not more) of the functionality to which I was accustomed. We were further impressed when we began working with 2X as a company. The people and 2X were (are) very responsive. We found that 2X performed very well, offered the security that we needed via the SSL connection option, and provided a comprehensive set of management and monitoring tools. "We have been using Citrix since its inception from WinView days. We have grown with the product over many years. Citrix has met our needs but has become cumbersome and expensive to manage. It has many features that we do not use but pay for and continue to pay for yearly. I am amazed at the ease and simplicity of 2X. To install on a server takes mins versus a much more complex install of Citrix. 2X is smooth, neat and clean and does the job we need it to do without a whole lot of bells and whistles that we do not need and will never use. The server install is cleaner, and the client install is very intuitive. The application publishing part is easy. With 2X's ApplicationServer & Terminal Services we were able to deploy an all-inclusive database solution to all of our Clubs that integrated with their current systems. The seamless integration allowed us to make the switch from running the application at each workstation to the terminal server without training staff. The transition was quick and easy. Now updates take 5 minutes, instead of days. We are now in the process of migrating customers off of Citrix and implementing 2X ApplicationServer in its place. The quality of 2X's support personnel is outstanding. “We were using an old version of Citrix Presentation Server to provide off campus access to a few key resources. Our budget is pretty tight and when we got an upgrade quote from Citrix it was clear we needed to look at alternatives. Luckily, we ran across 2x's Load Balancer & Application Server solution which promised even more functionality at less than 1/8th the cost per user. This seemed entirely too good to be true but our testing with the free trial confirmed everything so we went forward and have been very pleased. We're using it not only to replace the off campus functions our Citrix server provided but to securely, and transparently to the user, provide access to our ERP system. The overhead of the 2x ApplicationServer was low enough that we were able to build our farm with several older, underpowered servers. Load balancing and fail over work seamlessly. We would highly recommend 2x to anyone looking for a reliable load balancing app server system. Its low upfront and maintenance costs, both in terms of time and money, make it a great choice.”

Their software works seamlessly with Windows Terminal Services while the Application Server provides an excellent and cost effective alternative to Citrix. We are also pleased with the high level of competency of the sales and support staff. What more could you want from a software developer?”

"I also use the Application Server and Load Balancer. This provided redundancy and high availability at minimal cost. The App Server offered me a tool to manage the publishing of applications from a centralized location in a secure, quick and easy-to-use interface. I am now able to 'lock-down' the user experience so that the user gets only the IT tools that they need. The ease of installation and use belie the robust and powerful engine of these 2X products. As user demands change and increase, I am confident that the 2X products have the strength and flexibility to adapt. The 2X suite of products has freed up my time AND budget considerably. The cost savings just this year has turned a projected agency deficit into a surplus. I have more time to dedicate towards enhancing IT services and towards future developments."

"The installation was clean, simple and intuitive. The line that I use alot is "To make something simple is the hardest thing to do!!" I know and appreciate the time and effort that you have put into this product to make it simple. Thereby making it easy to implement and troubleshoot in times of trouble. The product delivered on the promises that was stated on the website. It worked flawlessly and smoothly. The goal was that we have five different servers to handle Terminal Server sessions. I need a software that would be able to connect the Active Directory and read groups. So based on the groups it needed to proceed to the proper Terminal Server. We watched as we tested. IT WORKED!!! IT WORKED!!! Over and over again....IT WORKED!!! Thank you."

"One of the applications had a growing memory consumption so the decision had to made to upgrade to Microsoft Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition and new hardware or add an extra Citrix Server. This was the time to start looking for a more cost effective and stable solution. After testing extensively some solutions it became evident that 2X offered what we’ve been looking for (load balancing, gateway service, straightforward management, ...)

Opus Energy Ltd

Opus Energy Ltd has been using 2x for two years, in this time it has proved to be the ideal solution to publish both in-house and 3rd party applications to internal users, as well as remote users across the UK. Previously we had to set up VPN links between locations which soon became swamped with SQL traffic between clients and our servers. Since publishing the applications through 2x it has not only improved performance at the client end, but it has also freed up vital bandwidth for the rest of the business. Opus Energy Ltd publishes approx 30 applications to more than 200 users and utilises the load balancing functionality, which allows us to share the load across multiple terminal servers. Additional benefits include, the ability to direct clients to another server should the primary server be unavailable. The centralised management of 2x enables us to efficiently troubleshoot and upgrade applications at a single location. Integration with Active Directory enables us to easily control which users can access which applications, and quickly disable access on a per user basis. We have recently started using the 2x Universal Printing module which allows users to print from a 2x published application to their local printer and are finding that this brings us one step closer to complete remote user integration. Overall we are extremely pleased with 2x it is a very useful, lightweight and cost effective tool - which we can highly recommend.

"I just wanted to take the time and let you know how much I enjoy using the 2X product. I currently use the 2X ApplicationServer with native clients as well as the web portal. The setup was so easy and the distribution of the software from the web portal reduced my install time by days. I would also like to applaud your Technical Support staff that is not only effective but efficient as well."
