2X OS 7.1

Postby Merlin » Tue Mar 06, 2012 7:50 am

Hello,

I installed 2X OS 7.0 generic r2 on my systems successfully. Unfortunately, the installation of 2X OS 7.1 generic r2 failed on all my systems. I also tried r1 and r3, but sooner or later, the execution of the system stalls.

With my best regards

The legacy version should be 2X OS 7.1 generic r1. This version I tried. But no success. I wonder, because the 7.0 generic r2 is running on the same machine.

I tried a little bit more. With the gerneric r.2 version, the live cd is running, but not the installer. When I choose to install, I can not choose Alt+F2 or Alt+F3, so I can not tell you, where it hangs. The safe mode installer starts, but hangs when it says mounting the devices. Is it a problem, when there is the 7.0 on the hard drive?

With my best regards

Can you specify the hardware you are using?

In the boot menu, you can select the pro-filer tool that should create a hardware report. You can post that if you want.

I'd like to post the hardware profile - but that's a lot of information. Any possibility to write the information to a usb stick? The system is a Lenovo with Core2Duo, 2GB Ram, DVI and VGA port.

I tried a little bit more with the live cd settings and found the following:

1. The generic.r1 does not work with the digital monitor cable, the analog one says, it's out of range.
2. The generic.r2 only works in safe mode, while using the digital cable, the xserver constantly restarts, using the analog cable it works.

If I connect from the live cd to pcoip, no usb devices are redirected to the vmware session. USB sticks appear on the local desktop, the smartcard is not redirected, even if I use vmware-view --usb:inid...

With my best regards

I suspect that generic.r3 will work perfectly with your system.

If you boot from CD, select the hardware profiler, and insert a USB stick, the tool will let you save the hardware profile on the USB disk. You can then post the archive.

Please try again with the official beta as a lot of work/fixes have gone in between the online build and the next one.
