RDP with computer name

The 2X RDP / Remote Desktop Client for iOS provides users with the ability to stay connected to their home or office Windows PC. The 2X Client allows you to simply, and securely, connect via RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) to your remote Windows desktop and applications whenever you want, wherever you are. Additionally, you can experience the full benefits of published remote Windows applications and desktops connecting to 2X ApplicationServer XG from your iPhone, iPad or iPod.

RDP with computer name

Postby yaccri » Mon Feb 13, 2012 9:44 am

I'm unable to connect with RDP using the computer name.
There's an error message that pops and disappears too quickly.
If I use the IP address, the client connects with no issues.
Other RDP client (RDP Lite) connects fine when using the computer name.

Any ideas?

Assuming that you don't use the 2xGateway but you simple want to connect from your (ex android) to your home PC desktop you've to use the "RDP connection" NOT the 2xConnection.

Further your desktop OS needs to support "remote desktop". This is just the case for pro, enterprise and ultimate versions but NOT home editions.

Here you find all needed information (http://www.2x.com/docs/en/manuals/pdf/2 ... ForiOS.pdf).

The credentials for a RDP connection are:

Enter an Alias name that describes your connection. It's JUST a name nothing else.

Enter the primary server name or IP address of the connection. (Either the IP of your desktop or the router, depends on the environment design).

For all RDP connections the default port is 3389. (Thats way you need remote desktp support.)

*User Name/Password
Enter your account user name, i.e.: user@domain and password as you have them set up on you workstation.
