Windows 7 and 2X client settings

Postby jbarker » Thu Mar 10, 2011 1:55 pm

Hi all,
I just wanted to post a few findings I'm seeing with 2X and Windows 7 (maybe this has been done before?). We got some shiny new Lenovo laptops in (x201 and T510). I've foudn that on Windows 7, the latest client (9) just doesn't seem to work. Inroder to get 2x working on Win7, I have to use version 6.1, set the "Connection Mode" to "Direct Mode" AND set firewall rules in place (for both appserverclient.exe and tsclient.exe!) before I can connect to the server.

Can this be explained? Or better yet, could the boffins in 2X publish a quick guide to setting up the client in Windows 7?

Any feedback on others experiences with 2X and Windows 7 would be greatly appreciated :-)

Hi there,

did you install the client with local admin rights?

Kind regards,

We don't have any issues with the client, version 9 of the server though is another thing. We do run them in direct mode though.
