Getting Loadbalancer to work with MS RDP client

Hi,

We're currently evaluating 2x Loadbalancer on our Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop servers. We'd like to continue using the MS RDP client on both Windows XP and Windows 7.
Right now it is not working on both of them. When we try to connect to the load balancer it takes about 10 minutes and the aborts with the error "the two computers couldn't connect in the amount of time allotted". I guess this has to do with Network Level Authentication on the 2k8R2 servers even though we have set the security layer to "RDP Security Layer". Connecting directly to the RD servers bypassing the LB is working fine. Is there any way we can get this scenario running or is using 2x Loadbalancer on 2k8R2 servers without the 2x client impossible?
