Assign Web Portal to specific address on server

Postby kbrutlag » Thu Feb 23, 2012 5:42 pm

Hello,

I've been testing the Web Portal, and am about to start testing from external locations. To do this I will need to install the Web Portal on a server in our DMZ. The problem I'm having, and maybe this has been addressed and I just over looked it in my search, is that I need the ability to specify the which IP address the Web Portal should use. The server I plan to use for testing currently has 6 addresses for servicing web pages, this would be a new address, but the installer doesn't seem to recognize this and only uses the default 'system' address.

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
Ken

hey Ken,

I believe that this change should be done in IIS. I don't think that the web portal allows you to change which IP to listen on.

So I would start from checking IIS, and see the website the 2X portal creates for you, on which IP it is listening on for incoming connections.

Thanks,

The problem is I already have a site running on the default IP and I'm afraid the web portal will try to overwrite it.
