License questions - free 2x and Terminal services CAL's

Postby peterpan » Mon Jan 24, 2011 2:42 pm

Hello together,

I do have a Windows Server 2008 were I enabled the Terminal services role to get 2x up and running - without Terminal services enabled the 2x Client always delivered the whole Remote Desktop and not only the apllications I published.

My question is now if I need to buy extra Terminal Services CAL's so the free 2x version runs with 2 connections, I do not need more 2x connections??

Right now my Terminal services are telling me that nothing is configured and I will only be able to use the terminal services for around 100 days.

What happens after, is 2 x not working anymore?
Do I need to by Terminal services CAL to use 2x longer with 2 connections?

Any hint is appreciated!

Thank you very much for your help, Peter

Kindly note that for terminal servers you need to buy cals.
Meanwhile for cals license of terminal server you can have per user or per device, but it is up to you what you need.
Actually you need to contact the Microsoft for this and they will suggests you some information and you can decide.

Hope it was helpful good day :)
