Client could not establish connection to the remote computer

Client could not establish connection to the remote computer

I recently installed the 2X Application Server and the Web Portal (Version 8.0 Build 829) on a web server that is outside in our DMZ. If I attempt to access a published application on this server via the web portal then it does work, however when I attempt to access it from a remote workstation then I can login from the webportal but when the client attempts to connect I receive a popup indicating:

The Client could not establish a connection to the remote computer.

The most likely causes for this error are:
1) The servers are too busy to service your request.
2) The machine is not part of the farm.

Please assist me in resolving this issue.

We have the exact same issue. Ours works inside the firewall, but not outside.

Check your web-portal-->farm settings-->advanced settings and insert your external ip of Application server.

thanks it was similar to your fix. We had a different name on the server than on our DNS records.
