New Install - Can't Login to Web Portal

2X ApplicationServer XG allows the delivery of virtual desktops and applications from a central location, providing continuous availability, resource-based load balancing and complete end-to-end network transparency for administrators. This enables vendor independent virtual desktops & application delivery to users on any device, accessible from anywhere. The results are significant savings on administration and support.

New Install - Can't Login to Web Portal

Hey guys,

I just started testing 2X in-house and am having some trouble with the web portal. I'm used to Citrix, so I'm pretty sure I'm just over-thinking this. I've got the portal installed - it brings up the website no problems (:8080). When I try to login (staylor, staylor@2x, staylor@2x.itworks.local, admin) I am given a red bar across the top of the login page that says "Login Failed".

When I look at the logging on the Client Portal Admin, I am greeted with line after line of "Invalid handle, Error ID 0x07".

Looking through the Application Event Logs I see quite a few Source ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0 (ID 1310) stating "Event Code 3008. a configuration error has occurred...Process w3wp.exe...It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS. (C:\inetpub\wwwroot\2xwebportal\web.config line11)" It's upset with the Admin section of the portal.

There are a couple of 2X Application (ID 5000) events.

There's nothing out of line in the Security or System logs that I can tell.

It looks like there may be a deeper issue than me just not being able to get logged into 2X from the web portal, but it's hard to say how serious the issue actually is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Steven,

Most probably you have an installation issue. Why don't you try uninstalling and reinstalling the CloudPortal?
