Application Group Options

Could there e a way to be able to set the publish from options from an application group level as well as from and individual application level. Sometimes we logically group specific applications an application group i.e. Microsoft Office. This grouping of applications and is normally installed on the same servers. It would be nice to be able to change these settings at a the top level and have it inherit down unless inheritance is explicitly broken. I know this adds some conplexity, but for me this would be a nice feature. Not sure about others.
