Change Password on Thin Client OS

The 2X ThinClientServer allows the conversion of outdated PCs to energy-efficient, cost-effective thin clients, while simultaneously providing centralized thin client management controls.

Change Password on Thin Client OS

Postby dellock6 » Mon May 10, 2010 9:28 am

Hi all,
one of our customers is using 2X Application Server 8 on a Windows 2003 server, linked to a NT4 domain.
Security policy requires user passwords to be changed every 60 days. The user changes the password in windows, and the when the connection comes from a windows 2X client, the 2X client itself requires for the new password.

If the user instead uses the thinclientOS, there is no possibility to set the new password and the software goes on saying that the password is wrong and that it cannot connect? Is there a way to update the password upon connection of the thinclientOS?

Thanks.
Luca.

I am having the same issue and I think this is a very important issue that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. It is just good security practices to have users change their passwords on a regular basis and this needs to be a seemless process for the end user.

Any update on this?

This should be counted as a bug and not a new feature request. Versions of Thinclientserver previous to 6 didn't have this issue.

This feature should be available in version 7.1 which will be released very soon.

Has this actually been implemented? I have trailed the latest OS7.1 version and for me it still doesn't work. If a user has an expired password or has a new password issued which prompts them to change on first login it doesn't work instead they get Code [01/00000001]

We are having the same problem and our helpdesk is FLOODED with support calls from 2X users about their passwords no longer working once they have expired.

This should definitely be treated as a BUG and not a feature request.

Thanks

Currently there is no plans to introduce this feature in TCS when working with 7.1. This will be possible with version 7.2 managed by ASXG 10.5.
