PXE booting from 3rd party server (router)

Postby molnart » Thu Jun 28, 2012 10:46 pm

Hi all,

i am trying to convert an old computer to a thin client for remote desktop protocol. For this purpose i have set up a PXE server on my tomato powered router. I want 2XOS to be completely placed on the router, and not on a separate computer.
I know i have to place the contents of the PXE folder to my router, but where to place the other files included in the zip? When trying to place them to the same folder as the linux26 and rootdisk26 files, I keep getting a TACAC008 error. I assume it cant find the other files needed to boot 2XOS.

Also if is customize a boot image using 2X ThinClient Server, where are these modified images located, so i can move them to my router?

Thanks for the info in advance

you can run the free version of the thin client server and setup pxe booting off it. you will also be able to manage the thin clients better as well
